John Prout, CEO of Cincinnati-based TriHealth, has begun a three-month medical leave after undergoing heart surgery, according to a Journal-News report.
Mr. Prout has led TriHealth since April 1, 1998. He is CEO over TriHealth operations including five hospitals: Good Samaritan and Bethesda North hospitals in Cincinnati, TriHealth Evendale (Ohio) Hospital, Bethesda Butler Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio, and McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.
During Mr. Prout's leave, TriHealth President Mark Clement has been named interim CEO, according to the report. Mr. Clement joined TriHealth in May 2015 after spending nine years as president and CEO of Rochester (N.Y.) General Health System.
