Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, N.C., has named Bert Beard CEO, effective Aug. 22.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Beard.
1. He joins Maria Parham from Wilson (N.C.) Medical Center, another Duke LifePoint Healthcare facility, where he has served as COO since 2014.
2. During his tenure at WMC, Mr. Beard managed the daily operations of the 294-bed facility and served as primary liaison to physician services.
3. His accomplishments at WMC include initiating an $81 million hospital renovation project; driving the expansion of the hospital's interventional cardiology program; and leading the hospital to achieve Chest Pain Certification from the Society for Cardiovascular Patient Care last April.
4. Previously, Mr. Beard served for nearly four years as associate administrator and interim COO at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.
5. Mr. Beard earned a bachelor's degree from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., and an MBA and MHA from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
