Art Mathisen will resign from his role as president of Memorial Hospital in North Conway, N.H., part of Portland-based MaineHealth, the hospital confirmed to Becker's.
Mr. Mathisen submitted his resignation effective July 7. He will begin a new role as president and CEO of Hermiston, Ore.-based Good Shepherd Health Care System, according to a news release shared with Becker's.
"We are sad to see Art go because of all he has done for this hospital and how it serves this community," Michelle O'Donnell, chair of the Memorial board, told The Conway Daily Sun. "But we are happy that Art is moving on to a new challenge and we have helped prepare him to make a difference in another community."
Mr. Mathisen became president of Memorial in 2019.
During his tenure, he oversaw the improvement of an electronic medical records system and focused on further integrating the hospital into MaineHealth, according to The Conway Daily Sun.
Before his current role, Mr. Mathisen served as president and CEO of Copley Hospital in Morrisville, Vt. He also served as an Army officer and held several Medical Service Corps posts, including COO of Munson Army Health Center in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
