Lompoc (Calif.) Valley Medical Center CEO Jim Raggio is retiring, ending a 20-year tenure as hospital leader, according to a Noozhawk report.

1. Mr. Raggio became CEO of the facility in 1998.
2. The hospital is operated by a special district board, the Lompoc Healthcare District. Mr. Raggio has worked with the district for 38 years.
3. He will depart from the CEO role once the district has selected his successor.
4. During his tenure, the hospital added a new building.
5. Mr. Raggio also led the hospital through difficult times, including the closure of Champion Center, a chemical dependency treatment facility.
