Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health has promoted Melissa Waddey to senior vice president of operations strategy and integration.
Here are six things to know about Ms. Waddey.
1. In this newly created position, Ms. Waddey is responsible for providing support and resources to LifePoint's hospitals and other system providers "to help strengthen, integrate and grow services in the company's markets across the country," LifePoint said. She will oversee service line development, population health, enterprise project management and integration for the company.
2. Ms. Waddey joined LifePoint in 2010 and has more than 15 years of hospital operations and healthcare management experience.
3. She most recently served as chief of staff to LifePoint chairman and CEO Bill Carpenter.
4. Previously, she was vice president of LifePoint's strategic resource group leading the company's healthcare reform initiatives, identifying strategic growth opportunities for hospitals within their markets and spearheading key service line initiatives company-wide.
5. Before joining LifePoint, Ms. Waddey served in a variety of operational leadership roles at Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America for 11 years.
6. She is former chairwoman of Nashville-based Leadership Health Care, which offers healthcare industry leaders educational programs and networking opportunities, and the founder and a former board member of the AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives' Middle Tennessee chapter. She also serves on the boards of the Sexual Assault Center and PearlPoint Cancer Support.
