Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health has appointed J.L. Osei Mevs chief of staff.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Mevs.
1. He has more than 15 years of experience in public policy and legislative strategy, regulatory research and analysis, government relations, business development and community outreach.
2. Previously, he was director of government relations for LifePoint.
3. He also previously was vice president of external affairs and business development at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn.
4. In his new role, he will provide leadership for projects that span multiple disciplines in the organization, serve as apivotal point of contact with key internal and external stakeholdersandassist Bill Carpenter, LifePoint's chairman and CEO, in continuing to build and strengthen LifePoint's culture.
5. Mr. Mevs earned a master's degree in public health/health policy and management from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University in New York City.
