Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals has appointed Reed Tuckson, MD, to the board as a class II director of the company.
Dr. Tuckson will serve on the board's audit and compliance committee, compensation committee, corporate governance and nominating committee and quality committee.
Dr. Tuckson is also the managing director of Tuckson Health Connections, a private healthcare consulting company. He previously served as executive vice president and chief of medical affairs of UnitedHealth Group, senior vice president of professional standards of the American Medical Association, president of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles and commissioner of public health for the District of Columbia.
