Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health has added a second CFO position to its Eastern Group leadership team to enhance the group's support of recent acquisitions and facilities.
Conrad Deese, who most recently served as vice president of finance for the Eastern Group, will be promoted to Eastern Group CFO.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Deese.
1. In his new role, he will work closely with Eastern Group COO James R. "Jamie" Carter, guiding strategic initiatives and driving financial operations for newly acquired hospitals, as well as other LifePoint and Duke LifePoint facilities in western North Carolina and Virginia, LifePoint said. Tom Butler Jr. will remain Eastern Group CFO, working closely with Eastern Group President Jeff Seraphine to guide LifePoint's facilities in Michigan, eastern North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
2. Mr. Deese's appointment comes on the heels of Duke LifePoint Healthcare's recent acquisition of Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C., and Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.
3. Mr. Deese joined LifePoint in 2014 as vice president of finance for the Eastern Group. In this role, he oversaw and directed financial operations for LifePoint and Duke LifePoint facilities in Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
4. Prior to LifePoint, Mr. Deese spent nine years in various leadership positions with Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates, including group CFO/vice president of operations finance.
5. Mr. Deese earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, management and communications from Coker College in Hartsville, S.C., and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
