LifePoint Health names 2 VPs at support center: 9 things to know

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Healthhas appointed two new vice presidents at the LifePoint Health Support Center.

Here are nine things to know about the leaders.

Phillip Clark has been named vice president of health support center accounting.

1. In his new role, Mr. Clark provides strategic leadership for the accounting and financial reporting responsibilities for the health support center, based in Brentwood, according to LifePoint Health. He is responsible for directing the review and delivery of various accounting, financial and budget information to management at different levels within the organization, including the executive leadership team.

2. Prior to LifePoint Health, he was accounting consultant for Change Healthcare (formerly Emdeon) in Nashville, Tenn.

3. He also previously was accounting consultant for SpecialtyCare in Nashville and controller for Take Care Health Systems in Franklin, Tenn.

4. Mr. Clark earned a master's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Tizgel High has been named vice president and associate general counsel for physician services at the health support center. 

5. In her role, Mr. High provides legal counsel to LifePoint Health's employed physician practices and to the physician services department "to ensure awareness of and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies and procedures," according to LifePoint Health. She provides legal guidance and support on various matters, including healthcare operational and regulatory issues, physician and business arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures and syndications, among others.

6. Prior to LifePoint Health, Ms. High was operations counsel at Franklin-based Community Health Systems. In that role, she was responsible for providing legal counsel on hospital operations issues for CHS-affiliated hospitals in eight states.

7. She also previously was associate at Atlanta-based law firms King & Spalding and Powell Goldstein (now Bryan Cave).

8. Ms. High earned her juris doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, and a bachelor's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton (N.J.) University.

9. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and currently is vice chairwoman of the In House Counsel Practice Group. She also is a founding board member of Intrepid College Preparatory School in Antioch, Tenn. and is vice chairwoman of the board of directors.
