New CEOs have been tapped to lead hospitals under the umbrella of LifePoint Health and Duke LifePoint, both based in Brentwood, Tenn.
Here are nine things to know about the new CEOs.
Brian Springate, BSN, RN,was named CEO of Fleming County Hospital, a 52-bed LifePoint hospital in Flemingsburg, Ky.
1. Mr. Springate most recently was COO of Logan Regional Medical Center in Beckley, W.Va.
2. Prior to LRMC, he was CNO of Bourbon Community Hospital, a LifePoint facility in Paris, Ky.
3. In his new role, he will lead Fleming County Hospital forward as it begins collaborating in new ways with Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Ky., according to a news release.
Mike Herman has been named CEO of Riverview Regional Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Carthage, Tenn., and Trousdale Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Hartsville, Tenn., effective June 6.
4. Since 2011, Mr. Herman has served as COO of Gallatin, Tenn.-based HighPoint Health, which is part of LifePoint Health.
5. He replaces Rod Harkleroad, who has accepted the top leadership post at Haywood Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint Healthcare facility in Clyde, N.C.
6. Since joining HighPoint Health, Mr. Herman has been instrumental in stabilizing the financial operations of the facilities and has led numerous expansion projects, including the purchase and development of Sumner Station in Gallatin that now houses the Carpenter Cancer Center, according to a news release.
Rod Harkleroad, BSN, RN,was named CEO at Haywood Regional Medical Center, effective June 6.
7. Mr. Harkleroad most recently served as CEO of Riverview Regional Medical Center and Trousdale Medical Center.
8. He replaces Harold Siglar, who has served as interim CEO of Haywood Regional Medical Center since April.
9. Mr. Harkleroad is a seasoned healthcare administrator with a background in nursing. During his time with Riverview Regional Medical Center, he led the hospital to earn designation as a Duke LifePoint Quality Affiliate through LifePoint's National Quality Program.
