New York City-based Lenox Hill Hospital, part of North Shore-LIJ Health System, has named Irene Macyk, RN, BSN, as CNO and associate executive director of patient care services, according to Nurse.com.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Macyk.
1. In her position, Ms. Macyk will be responsible for creating and communicating the vision and direction for nursing at the hospital.
2. Ms. Macyk has been with North Shore-LIJ Health System for more than nine years and most recently served as senior administrative director of patient care services at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.
3. During her tenure at NSUH, she oversaw a number of nursing units and managed strategic hospital initiatives, including patient experience and patient throughput improvement programs, according to the report.
4. Prior to joining NSUH, Ms. Macyk served in various leadership and clinical transformation roles at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York; Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital and Huntington (N.Y.) Hospital.
5. She received her master's and bachelor's degrees from Garden City, N.Y.-based Adelphi University, where she is pursuing a PhD with a concentration in healthcare outcomes.
