USMD Hospital at Arlington (Texas) has appointed Laurie Lewis CNO.
Here are four things to know about Ms. Lewis.
1. In her role, Ms. Lewis is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of nursing services at USMDHospital at Arlington, including perioperative services, inpatient and surgical intensive care and the emergency department. Additionally, she is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and patient care quality standards as they relate to the care provided to all patients at the hospital.
2. Before Ms. Lewis joined USMDHospital at Arlington, Marcia Crim was CNO and CEO of the hospital. Additional management was needed, according to the hospital, due to its growing patient base as well as the ongoing hospital expansion and planned future expansion.
3. Ms. Lewis has more than 22 years of clinical experience as well as a decade of experience in progressive nursing leadership roles.
4. Prior to joining USMDHospital at Arlington, Ms. Lewis was vice president of clinical and quality services at Acuity Healthcare in Dallas. During her time there, she oversaw all clinical operations in eight hospitals as well as the nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation, respiratory, quality and education departments of the organization.
