Lafayette (La.) General Health has announced the appointment of Karen O. Wyble as CEO of Breaux Bridge, La.-based St. Martin Hospital.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Wyble.
1. She started her new position Sept. 21.
2. She brings years of experience in the medical industry to her new position.
3. Most recently, Ms. Wyble was regional vice president of operations at LHC Group, a Lafayette-based post-acute care partner for hospitals, physicians and families nationwide. In that role, she was responsible for operationalizing teams for the home health-partnered agencies while developing the concepts for the referral process.
4. Prior to her role with LHC Group, she was COO of Heart Hospital of Lafayette and vice president of cardiovascular for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Under her leadership, HHL earned a "Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital Award" from Thomson Reuters in 2012, according to a news release.
5. After earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Loyola University in New Orleans, Ms. Wyble earned two master's degrees, in healthcare administration and business administration, from the University of St. Francis in Joilet, Ill. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in nursing at Loyola.
