Sisters of Charity Health System appointed Janice Murphy, RN, president and CEO of St. Vincent Charity Medical Center effective immediately. Both healthcare organizations are based in Cleveland.
Ms. Murphy most recently served as senior vice president of mission and ministry at the Sisters of Charity Health System. She previously held COO roles at several regional hospitals and family health centers for the Cleveland Clinic. She also was the COO of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi and president of Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital.
Ms. Murphy is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a master's degree in nursing and administration from the University of Akron (Ohio.).
She succeeds David Perse, MD, who stepped down from the CEO role at the hospital. Dr. Perse will continue as an employed physician of the St. Vincent Medical Group.
