Alberto Vasquez will retire from Intermountain Healthcare after 35 years with the Salt Lake City-based health system.
Mr. Vasquez has served as administrator of Intermountain Garfield Memorial Hospital since 2003, an Oct. 5 news release said.
"Alberto has been an amazing leader who has helped this rural hospital truly excel and meet the needs of the residents of Garfield County in a meaningful way," said Jim Sheets, vice president and COO of specialty-based care for Intermountain. "Alberto is smart, resourceful and one of the kindest individuals I have worked with. He has made a big difference to this organization and leaves the hospital and his community better places."
Throughout his tenure at Garfield, Vasquez has overseen significant facility development, including a $6 million remodel of the campus. He also played a critical role in developing Intermountain's strategy around neighborhood hospitals, the news release said.
His retirement will become effective in April 2022.
