The board of trustees of Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health appointed J. Stephen Jones, MD, CEO of the health system March 14.
Here are three things to know about Dr. Jones.
1. Dr. Jones currently serves as president of Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals and Health Centers. He has also held several other leadership positions within the Cleveland Clinic system, including vice president for regional operations and chief of surgical operations.
2. His tenure as CEO of Inova, as well as a member of its board of trustees, will go into effect April 9. Dr. Jones succeeds J. Knox Singleton, who will retire from the organization effective in July.
3. A fellow at the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Jones obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and obtained his medical degree from Little Rock-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine.
