Illinois' Loyola Health System Names Dr. Robert Cherry as Chief Medical Officer

Loyola University Health System in Maywood, Ill., has named Robert A. Cherry, MD, chief medical officer and vice president of clinical effectiveness, according to a LUHS news release.

Dr. Cherry assumed his role on Dec. 30. Previously, Dr. Cherry has served as associate chief quality officer at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and medical director of Penn State Shock Trauma Center, both in Hershey, Penn.

In his new roles at LUHS, Dr. Cherry will set the system's strategic goals for quality and safety. He will also oversee LUHS' Center for Clinical Effectiveness and the chief of staff's office as well as the departments of infection control, patient relations and interpretive services.
