Illinois hospital extends CEO's suspension

The McDonough District Hospital board of directors has voted to extend Bill Murdock as the Macomb, Ill.-based hospital's interim CEO to Feb. 20.

The vote took place following a special board meeting on Feb. 1, according to a hospital news release.

Mr. Murdock has been serving as interim CEO since late December, when president and CEO Brian Dietz was suspended with pay through Feb. 5. The hospital said Mr. Dietz's suspension with pay will now also continue until Feb. 20.

Effective Dec. 28, Mr. Dietz was suspended pending an investigation into recent allegations regarding hospital management.

In its news release, the hospital said it continues to process information from the investigation.

Mr. Dietz served as interim president and CEO of the hospital until he became its seventh CEO in April 2019. Mr. Murdock served as vice president and CFO until he was named interim CEO.
