Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Medical Center President and CEO Kevin Miller resigned Monday, according to The Hutchinson News.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Miller and his resignation.
1. Mr. Miller told The Hutchinson News that he "just resigned," but did not provide further detail.
2. Mr. Miller had been CEO of Hutchinson Regional since July 2011.
3. During his tenure at Hutchinson Regional, Mr. Miller has been involved in many accomplishments, including an expansion of the hospital's emergency department along with other capital improvements, reaccreditations of major entities within the hospital and a return of financial solvency throughout the health system, according to Kim Moore, JD, chairman of the hospital board.
4. Prior to Hutchinson Regional, Mr. Miller was with Cleveland Clinic as president and CEO of Ashtabula (Ohio) County Medical Center and ACMC Healthcare System. Before that, he was president and CEO of Medical Center of Southern Indiana in Charlestown.
5. Hutchinson Regional will immediately begin a national search for a new chief executive, according to the report, which cites a statement from the hospital. In the meantime, Ken Johnson, who was previously COO of Hutchinson Regional, has been named interim president and CEO of the hospital.
