Heath Phillips, CEO of Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., plans to resign from his executive role, effective March 20, the Dothan Eagle reports.
Mr. Phillips intends to leave the hospital and accept an out-of-state managed care position, a statement from Flowers Hospital said.
The CEO was named the top leader at Flowers Hospital in May 2017. Before that, he helmed Medical Center Enterprise (Ala.). He also was COO of Flowers Hospital in 2014 and 2015.
"Since coming back to Dothan in 2017, Heath has helped the hospital and its affiliated clinics increase the number of patients served by sustaining strong relationships with all providers on the medical staff, both employed and independent," the Flowers Hospital statement said. "Heath leaves Flowers Hospital and its affiliated access points well-positioned for continued success. We wish him much success in his new role."
Medical Center Enterprise and Flowers Hospital are both owned by Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.
