William Morgan, MD, president of Health First Physicians Group, a 120-physician group in Rockledge, Fla., has resigned, according to a report by Florida Today.
Dr. Morgan's resignation follows the announcement that Health First acquired Melbourne (Fla.) Internal Medicine Associates on Nov. 15. The acquisition will lead to the combination of MIMA and Health First Physicians Group to create Health First Medical Group, according to the report.
Dr. Morgan is an internal medicine physician and has led Health First Physicians Group for more than four years, according to the report. His resignation was effective Monday, Dec. 3.
Health First Physicians Group is part of the four-hospital health system Health First, also based in Rockledge.
