HCA's Tristar Centennial Medical Center taps Scott Cihak to lead as CEO: 5 things to know

Hospital Corporation of America's Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., appointed Scott Cihak CEO, effective Nov. 28.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Cihak is currently CEO of Miami-based Kendall Regional Medical Center, another HCA facility.

2. His previous healthcare leadership roles include serving as COO of Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Fla., and COO of Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, Fla.

3. During his tenure at Kendall Regional, the hospital achieved The Joint Commission Top Quality Award every year from 2011 to 2015, among other accolades.

4. Mr. Cihak is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

5. He succeeds current CEO Heather Rohan, who is leaving to serve as president of HCA's TriStar Division, which includes 16 hospitals in Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia.
