Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare named Ashley Johnson CFO of its American Group, which includes 85 of the 177 hospitals HCA operates. She will assume the role Oct. 1.
Ms. Johnson currently serves as CFO of Richmond, Va.-based HCA Capital Division. Before then, she was CFO for numerous HCA hospitals, including Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., and Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, Fla. She worked within the HCA family for 21 years. HCA is searching for a new Capital Division CFO.

Ms. Johnson succeeds Rick Shallcross, who is retiring after 25 years with the organization. Mr. Shallcross served as a group CFO for HCA since 2001, prior to which he held a number of leadership roles within HCA, including Utah Division CFO.
