Dave MacIntyre, DO, is now the chief medical officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital in Ocala, the organization said Sept. 30.
Dr. MacIntyre has more than 20 years of experience as an acute care and trauma surgeon, HCA said in a LinkedIn post. After the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, which killed 60 people and injured hundreds more, he and his team "prioritized bed-flow process and use of intensive care units for 124 gunshot wounds," the post said.
The staff at HCA Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas performed 83 surgeries after the event, including 58 surgeries within the first 24 hours.
