Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America has appointed Tim McManus president of its capital division, effective Aug. 1.
Here are five things to know about Mr. McManus.
1. He replaces Rob Carrel, who recently announced his retirement after a nearly 25-year career with HCA.
2. In his new position, Mr. McManus will have responsibility for 18 hospital campuses in Virginia, New Hampshire, Kentucky and Indiana.
3. Mr. McManus has held various roles at HCA, including CEO of HCA's Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport, Miss. He was also previously president of HCA's Northern Virginia market for two years before taking over as CEO of Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Medical Center, a 758-bed, two-campus health system in Richmond, Va., in 2012.
4. During his tenure at CJW, Mr. McManus oversaw a conversion to a Level II trauma center, significant growth and marked improvement in quality and patient satisfaction scores, as well as significant improvements in employee engagement and satisfaction scores, HCA said.
5. Mr. McManus earned his bachelor's degree in psychology at Tulane University in New Orleans and a Master of Health Services in health finance and management at Johns Hopkins University, School of Public Health, in Baltimore.
