Plano, Texas-based LHP Hospital Group and Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center have named Chad Melton as CEO of HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley in Westwood, N.J., effective immediately.
As CEO, Mr. Melton will be responsible for the start-up planning, hiring and day-to-day operations of the hospital, which is set to reopen in summer 2013. The Pascack Valley hospital closed in April 2008. LHP and HackensackUMC formed a joint venture in 2009 to reopen the hospital, and earlier this year, the state of New Jersey approved the deal.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Melton served LHP as division director of operations. Before serving LHP, he was with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton as an associate administrator.
