Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System has named Jaewon Ryu, MD, executive vice president and CMO of the organization. Dr. Ryu will officially join Geisinger this fall.
Dr. Ryu, a board-certified emergency medicine physician, will join Geisinger from Louisville, Ky.-based Humana, where he serves as president of integrated care delivery. Prior to Humana, Dr. Ryu was the CMO of the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System in Chicago.
Geisinger President and CEO David Feinberg, MD, said he looks forward to working with Dr. Ryu to "enhance patient care throughout Geisinger." According to Dr. Ryu, the feelings are mutual.
