Chicago-based Galen Healthcare Solutions, a services and solutions company focused on healthcare information technology, has appointed veteran business leader Steve Brewer CEO.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Brewer.
1. Mr. Brewer is joining Galen from Origin Healthcare Solutions, where he was chief sales and marketing officer.
2. While at Origin, he helped complete the successful sale of Origin to The Gores Group early this year.
3. Previously, Mr. Brewer was executive vice president of sales at Chicago-based Allscripts, as well as general manager of the practice management group at Tinley Park, Ill.-based McKesson, and CEO of Irvine, Calif.-based Dentalxchange, leading to its acquisition by MetLife.
4. Mr. Brewer's predecessor, Jason Carmichael, who has been serving as Galen's CEO, will continue his role on the company's board of directors and remain active in business operations.
