Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo., has named Thomas Glodek, MD, the organization's new CMIO.
Previously, Dr. Glodek was the founder and CEO of Physician Advisory Services Group, a physician-led consulting firm that assisted providers with health IT implementations. He also founded Medical Software Solutions, a hardware, software and training services vendor. Before his consulting career, Dr. Glodek was a practicing physician in Chicago.
"I loved being in clinical practice. I loved technology," said Dr. Glodek in a news release. "As I transitioned out of clinical practice, I began to appreciate the fact that as a physician leader in advisory services and as a CMIO, I could have a very significant impact beyond my ability as an individual provider. It occurred to me that I could be an advocate for clinical care providers in a way I could never do on my own."
