Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo., has promoted Paula Baker to president and CEO-elect, which will be effective Jan. 1, 2012, according to a health system release.
Ms. Baker has served as chief clinical officer for Freeman Health since 2008. Prior to that appointment, she served for seven years as CEO of Ozark Center, the health system's rural mental health clinic. Ms. Baker succeeds current CEO Gary Duncan, who announced his pending retirement in August.
