Manatt Health, an advisory healthcare practice composed of professionals from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, welcomed Benjamin K. Chu, MD, to its New York City office.
Dr. Chu most recently served as president and CEO of Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System. He stepped down just one year into his tenure to "pursue his passion in health and public policy," according to a health system statement at the time.

Dr. Chu's previous experience includes serving as executive vice president of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan as well as group president of Kaiser Permanente Southern California and Georgia regions. He is also a prior president of New York City's NYC Health + Hospitals.
In addition, Dr. Chu serves as chair for The Commonwealth Fund's board of directors.
