Florida Hospital New Smyrna CEO to retire in December

Florida Hospital New Smyrna CEO Ken Mattison plans to retire, effective Dec. 23, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal. The hospital is based in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Mr. Mattison, who has worked for Florida Hospital's parent company Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System for 42 years, became CEO of Florida Hospital New Smyrna in April 2016. Prior to that, he was CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast.

During his tenure as Florida Hospital New Smyrna CEO, Mr. Mattison helped transition the facility, formerly known as the Bert Fish Medical Center, into the Adventist family and led a $1.5 million renovation.

"The next chapter of that facility (Florida Hospital New Smyrna) needs to be written by somebody else," Mr. Mattison told The Daytona Beach News-Journal.
