Florida hospital CEO to retire

David Clay, CEO of Key West, Fla.-based Lower Keys Medical Center, will retire at the end of September after a 40-year healthcare career.

Mr. Clay became CEO in 2016. He is relocating to be closer to his father, according to an Aug. 8 hospital news release shared with Becker's.

"I'm committed to the success of Lower Keys Medical Center but I've come to the time in life where it's important to provide my father with the support he needs," he said in the release.

During his tenure, the hospital increased the availability of primary and specialty care services locally through recruitment, the release said.

Lower Keys Medical Center is a 167-bed hospital.
