Fletcher Allen Health Care, a Burlington, Vt.-based academic medical center, has named Adam P. Buckley, MD, as its first chief medical information officer. 
As CMIO, Dr. Buckley will serve as a liaison between Fletcher Allen providers and the information systems department. He will help ensure that clinical information systems are being maximized to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.
Most recently, Dr. Buckley held leadership roles in quality improvement and information technology projects at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He helped design and implement an electronic medical record for obstetric care there.
