Doug Crabtree, CEO of Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, is retiring, effective Dec. 31, according to an East Idaho News report.
Mr. Crabtree assumed the CEO role at EIRMC in 1999, prior to which he served as COO of the hospital.
During his tenure, EIRMC was designated as a level II trauma center. Mr. Crabtree helped establish the region's only level III neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital and oversaw around $93 million in renovations and expansion. He also spearheaded the development of the Idaho Cancer Center at EIRMC.
Mr. Crabtree played a key role in creating the hospital consortium — a partnership between EIRMC and five hospitals focused on sharing services and enhancing care delivery at the regional level.
