Keith Goodwin, president and CEO of East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Knoxville, this week announced his plans to retire.
His retirement will be effective once his successor is named, expected early next year.
Mr. Goodwin has led the hospital 2007.
During his tenure, the hospital opened a new neonatal intensive care unit, a surgery center and outpatient clinics, launched pediatric urgent care and joined Solutions for Patient Safety, a national collaboration of children's hospitals.
