Victor J. Dzau, MD, chancellor for health affairs at Duke University and president and CEO of Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C., has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Association of Academic Health Centers, according to an AAHC release.
The AAHC is a national non-profit association dedicated to advancing the nation's health and well-being through the vigorous leadership of academic health centers. Dr. Dzau believes that academic health centers must lead the transformation of medicine through innovation, translation and globalization. He was recently honored with the Gustav Nylin Medal from the Swedish Royal College of Medicine as well as the Research Achievement Award of the American Heart Association.
