Dr. Scott Wolf named president of Mercy Medical Center: 5 things to know

Trinity Health-New England, a member of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, has named Scott Wolf, DO, president of Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., and its affiliated entities.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Wolf.

1. In his new role, he will be responsible for the operational performance of Mercy Medical Center, according to a news release. He also will provide leadership in the execution, management, financial performance and oversight of all hospital operations, and explore opportunities for growth through strategic development initiatives across the system.

2. He will succeed Daniel Moen, who was president and CEO of Springfield-based Sisters of Providence Health System since 2011. Mr. Moen is now executive vice president and COO of Trinity Health-New England, the parent company of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital in Hartford, Conn., Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Conn., as well as SPHS and other subsidiaries in Springfield.

3. Dr. Wolf joined SPHS in 2010, serving as senior vice president of medical affairs, CMO and COO for Mercy Medical and SPHS.

4. Previously, he also served in various capacities at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital, including director of clinical operations for ambulatory medicine, director of ambulatory medical education and associate program director of the internal medicine residency program.  

5. He is board-certified in internal medicine.
