Michael Choo, MD, is resigning as president and CEO of Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio, effective immediately, according to a Wilmington News Journal report.
Mark Dooley has resigned as CEO of Andalusia (Ala.) Regional Hospital to replace Dr. Choo as CEO. In the interim, Clinton Memorial Hospital CFO Janet Montel will oversee daily operations.
Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners, parent company of Clinton Memorial Hospital, said Dr. Choo "planned to explore a professional direction that will allow him to incorporate more of a clinical focus," according to the report.
Dr. Choo served as CEO of the hospital for two years after serving as interim CEO for nearly a year. He had been a member of the hospital's medical staff since 1992.
