Dr. Brent Burkey is Fisher-Titus Medical Center's new president: 6 takeaways

Norwalk, Ohio-based Fisher-Titus Health system selected Brent Burkey, MD, to serve as president of Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, according to a Norwalk Reflector report.

1. Dr. Burkey most recently served as CMO of Cleveland Clinic Avon (Ohio) Hospital.

2. He worked at Cleveland Clinic for 14 years, serving as vice president of medical affairs at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital.

3. In addition to his medical training as a hospitalist, Dr. Burkey holds an MBA from Mont Ajuha School of Business, Cleveland State University.

4. He succeeds Lorna Strayer, who served as the organization's president and CEO until her retirement in early 2018.

5. The organization's board decided to restructure the president and CEO role at Fisher-Titus, dividing it into two separate positions — CEO of the Fisher-Titus Health system and president of Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

6. Matthew Gross is serving as CEO of the health system.
