Dignity Health-St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif., has named Ardel Guillamas Avelino, DNP, RN, its new vice president and chief operating officer.
Dr. Avelino has served the hospital since 2002, according to a news release shared with Becker's. He began as a staff nurse in the intensive care unit and has held progressive leadership positions ever since.
Dignity Health is based in San Francisco.
