Victoria, Texas-based DeTar Healthcare System named Gary Malaer CEO, effective, Jan. 2, according to a Victoria Advocate report.
Here are four things to know:
1. Most recently, Mr. Malaer served as CEO of Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, S.C.
2. Equipped with more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience, he has worked at hospitals across Texas and Florida.
3. He holds a master's degree in health services management from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
4. He succeeds William R. Blanchard, who is retiring at the end of the year.
