The board of directors of Dameron Hospital in Stockton, Calif., has asked Christopher Arismendi, MD, president and CEO, to step down from his post Oct. 23, according to a report by The Record.
The board asked Dr. Arismendi to step aside before a possible partnership between the hospital and University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento.
The current management staff will take over the responsibilities held by Dr. Arismendi until a new CEO is named, according to the report.
Dr. Arismendi plans to return to practicing full time, according to the report.
