CVS Health's CIO Stephen Gold resigned to "pursue professional opportunities outside of CVS Health," a CVS spokesperson told Rhode Island Public Radio.
Mr. Gold's departure was not in relation to CVS Health's $69 billion bid to purchase Aetna, the spokesperson noted.
Mr. Gold began working as CVS Health's CIO in 2012. Prior to joining the company, he was senior vice president and CIO of software firm Avaya from 2010 to 2012. He also worked for GSI Commerce as executive vice president, CIO and chief technology officer from 2005 to 2010.
