Springfield, Pa.-based Crozer-Keystone Health System appointed Sharif Omar CEO after the sudden resignation of Patrick Gavin.
Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. Gavin became CEO of the health system in July 2016. The health system did not give a reason for his departure in an emailed statement sent to Becker's Hospital Review.
2. Mr. Omar most recently served as COO of the health system.
3. He previously served as CEO at Northwest Health System, Ark., as well as held CEO and COO positions at Pottstown (Pa.) Memorial Medical Center.
4. He holds a master's degree in health administration from Tulane University in New Orleans.
