Tim Rice, CEO of Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health, has announced plans to retire at the end of the year.
Mr. Rice joined Cone Health 36 years ago as a pharmacist. His subsequent leadership roles include president of The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and COO of the health system. Mr. Rice was named CEO in 2004.
Terry Akin, Cone Health president and COO, will replace Mr. Rice, effective Jan. 1, 2015.
