Miriam Sibley, RN, CNO of Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, has resigned, according to a Dallas Business Journal report.
According to the report, Ms. Sibley has stepped down in order to spend more time with family. She will continue serving in her role until a replacement is found.
This summer, Parkland Memorial came under fire for committing a string of patient safety violations, endangering its Medicare status. The hospital submitted a corrective action plan, which was accepted by CMS. However, state regulators found the hospital still in "immediate jeopardy" during a follow-up inspection. The hospital has since agreed to enter into a systems improvement agreement with CMS.
