Clyde B. Jones III to leave University of Pittsburgh and UPMC

Clyde B. Jones III, president of the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, is resigning to become senior vice president for institutional advancement for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, according to a TribLive report.

His resignation is effective June 12.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Jones.

1. He helped raise more than $1 billion for academic medical programs at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC in recent years, according to the report

2. His team is credited with bringing in about half of the University of Pittsburgh's $2 billion capital campaign, a joint effort with the university's office of institutional advancement, the report reads.

3. He has served as board president of the Pittsburgh Opera and past board president of City Theatre.
