Cleveland Clinic selects Semih Sen as first chief business development officer: 4 things to know

Cleveland Clinic has appointed Semih Sen chief business development officer, a newly created position.

Four things to know:

1. Mr. Sen, who assumed his new role July 1, previously served as a director at Mubadala Investment Company's healthcare unit, Cleveland Clinic's partner for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

2. He is the founding partner of Biolinka Investment Holding, a company that invests in late- and growth-stage healthcare companies.

3. In his new role, Mr. Sen will identify and drive new business opportunities, develop plans for new growth initiatives and build strategic partnerships and alliances. He will also head Cleveland Clinic Innovations, the commercialization arm of Cleveland Clinic.

4. Cleveland Clinic has a growing international presence, with locations in Canada, Abu Dhabi and London and a strategic collaboration in Shanghai, China.
