Santa Fe, N.M.-based Christus St Vincent Health System appointed Lillian Montoya president and CEO, effective June 15.
Here are six things to know:
1. Ms. Montoya currently serves as COO of the nonprofit health system.
2. She joined Christus St Vincent's board in 2010 and was named chair in 2013.
3. In 2013, she also became a part of the heath system's administrative team, joining as vice president for public policy and stakeholder engagement.
4. Her experience prior to Christus St Vincent includes serving as executive director of the New Mexico Independent Community Colleges as well as program manager of the New Mexico Early Childhood Development Partnership.
5. Ms. Montoya is the first female CEO of the organization.
6. She succeeds Patrick Carrier, who is retiring after 18 years of service at Irving, Texas-based Christus Health, Christus St Vincent's parent.
